My airbag light comes on periodically. Do I have to have it fixed?

I have a 1999 Dodge Caravan that i don't drive very often or for long distances. Every so often for just a few seconds, the airbag light comes on and then goes off. It's never on more that a few seconds. Do I have to have this looked at now?
