My dad died from cancer this morning in his sleep. Was it just heart failure that killed him?

They aren't doing an autopsy since it was stage 4 kidney cancer, and considered a terminal illness. He was only diagnosed 2 months ago, and just started his treatment 4 weeks ago. Waited to talk to his doctors tomorrow, but how did he die? How exactly did the cancer kill him in his sleep? Was it just heart failure?
