What do I do about my husband's rude friend?

I overheard my husband's friend talking at our rehearsal dinner a couple months ago about how much he hates me and how he thinks that my husband is much better off without me. Not only do I not want to be around this guy, I don't want my husband to be in contact with someone who is going to be so unsupportive of our relationship. We have had a few conversations about this now, and my husband became so upset at the thought of a confrontation that I told him he didn't have to talk to this friend about what happened. I can't stop being resentful every time I know they're talking, though, and it's keeping us from doing things with his other friends because we know that this guy will be there. What should I do?
